Terms of service

These terms cover your use of Petcare, the dog recipe app at petcare.cognitionsync.com. Please read them together with our privacy notice. By building a recipe or creating an account, you agree to these terms.

1. Who we are

Petcare is run by Cognition Sync, a sole proprietorship based in Lahore, Pakistan (“we” or “us”). You can reach us through the contact form at cognitionsync.com.

2. What Petcare is, and what it is not

• Petcare is recipe software. It calculates home cooked recipes for healthy adult dogs and checks each recipe against published nutrient standards (NRC 2006 and FEDIAF 2025).
• It is not veterinary advice. Using Petcare does not make us your dog’s vet, and no vet reviews your recipe unless you show it to one.
• It is only for healthy adult dogs: at least 12 months old (18 months for dogs of 25 kg or more), not pregnant or nursing, and with no diagnosed medical condition. Puppies, pregnant or nursing dogs and dogs with a condition need a diet from a vet, and Petcare will not build one for them.
• If your dog seems unwell, or may have eaten something harmful, contact a vet straight away. Never wait for, or rely on, anything in Petcare.

3. Your part

• Answer the questions accurately. A recipe is only as good as the answers behind it.
• Follow the recipe as written, including every supplement it lists. Weigh the ingredients, and do not swap one for another, because a swap can unbalance the recipe.
• Change your dog’s food gradually, keep an eye on its weight and health, and ask your vet about any change. We suggest showing the recipe to your vet; each recipe has a private link for that.
• Build a new recipe when your dog’s weight, age or activity changes.

4. Accounts and share links

• You must be 18 or older to create an account. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens in your account.
• Each recipe has a long random link. Anyone you give the link to can view that recipe. Deleting the recipe turns the link off.
• You may print, save and share your recipes for feeding your own dogs, including with your vet.
• You can delete your account, with every recipe in it, at any time on the Your recipes page. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why when we can.

5. AI features

Petcare may offer features that use AI, such as an assistant that answers questions. When you use them:

• Answers are written by AI and can be wrong. They are general information about feeding and about using Petcare, not advice about your dog’s health.
• The assistant will not diagnose or treat your dog. It points health questions to a vet, and a vet’s advice always comes first.
• Please do not type personal details, such as your address or phone number, into it. What we keep from your questions, and for how long, is set out in the privacy notice.

6. Vets and other services we point you to

• Petcare may point you to independent vets, vet telehealth services or other businesses. They are responsible for their own advice, prices and terms, and we are not responsible for what they do.
• If we are paid for sending you to a service, we say so next to the link.

7. Paid plans

Petcare is free during early access. If we offer paid plans:

• You will see the price, what it includes and how often you will be charged before you pay.
• Our order process is run by our online reseller, Paddle.com, which is the merchant of record for all our orders. Paddle takes the payment, adds any sales tax or VAT, sends your receipt and handles refunds and billing questions.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel online at any time from your account, and you keep what you paid for until the end of that period.
• For yearly plans, we email you before each renewal.
• If a price changes, we tell you at least 30 days before the new price applies, so you can cancel first.
• Refunds follow our refund policy. If you live in the EU or the UK, you also have a legal right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days, and you can do it online from your account.

8. Fair use

• The free app is for feeding your own dogs. To use Petcare for clients, customers or products, you need a business agreement with us.
• Do not copy Petcare’s recipes or data in bulk, use automated tools to access it, try to break or overload it, or get around its limits.
• Do not give answers you know are untrue to get a recipe for a dog that Petcare is not meant for.

9. Our content

The Petcare software, design and text belong to Cognition Sync. Apart from the personal use described in section 4, please do not copy or reuse them without asking us first.

10. Changes to Petcare and to these terms

• Petcare is in early access. Features may change, and we may pause the service for maintenance. We will try to give notice of changes that matter to you.
• We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date. If a change matters to paying customers, we will email them before it applies.

11. No guarantees, and our liability

• We check every recipe against published nutrient standards, but we cannot promise that a recipe suits your dog. Dogs differ, ingredients vary, and published nutrient data has limits.
• Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the consumer laws of your country that cannot be limited by a contract.
• Within that limit, Petcare is provided as it is, and we are not responsible for harm or loss that comes from using it in ways these terms warn against: for a dog it is not meant for, without the listed supplements, with ingredients swapped, or in place of a vet’s care.
• Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you paid nothing.

12. Ending

You can stop using Petcare and delete your account at any time. If you do, these terms stop applying to you, except for the parts that by their nature continue, such as section 11.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. If you live in a country whose consumer laws give you more protection, you keep that protection, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live. Before going to court, please contact us: most problems are quicker to fix by talking.
